A little birdie told me cultural phenomenon Doki Doki Literature Club! was inspired directly by this story. That wasn't true, of course, but it's an interesting parable- and believable solely on account of the fact that this lil' story is an ancient, archaic reminiscence of the same sort of deconstructive pattern. It's a relic at the end of the day, and one that's valuable to understand in a comprehensive analysis of authorship trends across time and culture... But does it stack up in the face of the bulk cultural conditioning concerning subversive prose we're raised in? Eh. Just another nobody-boy getting courted by the girls at school.
