Precisely what it says on the tin. I've played a variety of slight chess variants in my life, and read about more; 5D chess is just another entry in the long line of remixes from strange packaged one's like Steve Jackson's Tile Chess to the plethora of minor variants on chess.com. If you like those, you might like this, and vice versa. At the end of the day though, it's just chess, so if you don't like chess at a fundamental level this won't change what it is.
