Walden is something I've heard talked up a lot, but it fails to present any sort of interesting or meaningful worldview. Instead, I got to listen to a sort of insensitive, self absorbed dude go on raving about a system of thinking based on self-sufficiency and detachment from modern struggle which didn't hold water for me under light scrutiny, and completely collapsed when taken with respect to other demographics of his time.
