The Pigman (The Pigman, #1)

liked it

While it does a good job of organizing itself in such a way as to be accessible to a younger audience, The Pigman is not a particularly memorable story. It fails to deliver on any sort of fantastic setting, instead creating a story about modern life and supposedly-relatable youth struggles which don't have any special sort of appeal. Still, the characters are not as bland as a lot of other young adult fiction, and there are a lot of emotionally powerful elements to it, so reading The Pigman isn't a waste of time necessarily. It's best not to raise expectations too high for it, though.
