I read this a long time ago when I was younger and my most distinct feelings from this book tended to relate to visceral discomfort related to subjects such as blindness, starvation, and etcetera which I really just don't think I was prepared for. Nevertheless, I'm sure that this book did me a lot of good as well in terms of teaching me about some basic principles about social interaction, which was a good thing. I wouldn't say I was entertained, but that was mainly due to me being easily scared by the "survival" genre when I was younger I reckon.
