A very emotionally powerful story which dances over a lot of lines in terms of very pressing and uncomfortable dilemmas. Although the entire story is very short, it is poorly paced and fixates on a lot of irrelevant details; this may be a product of the time it was written, where the themes and subjects it explores were less discussed in media, but it definitely detracts from the value of the book to a modern audience. Nevertheless, Of Mice and Men still is an interesting read today.
