A very slow burning but altogether satisfying high fantasy. This was extremely grueling to get into, with long drawn out scenes and passages which were both poorly written and difficult to care for, but the parts of the book which were good were absolutely excellent. It's definitely not something I would recommend to somebody picky, due to all of the sloppiness; in fact, I think it would be pretty embarrassing to say I enjoyed a book with so many uncomfortable and frustrating scenes, despite the good parts. As a consequence of its slow pace, Mistborn is also very simple and easy to follow, which made for a kind of pleasant and fun time; this definitely would work well for young adults. (view spoiler).
A lot of my hesitations about this book especially come from some of the difficulties Sanderson seemed to have with writing (view spoiler). (view spoiler).
Overall this was one of the most exciting things I've read in a long time, and I'm really glad to have had the chance to finally finish it.
