Flatland is really, really long for what it is, and could probably have just as effectively captured the ideas it was trying to purvey in a fraction of the space it occupies. Nevertheless it is an extremely unique read and was especially appealing to me due to my fascination at the time with (ironically) 4+ dimensional geometry. The book was also considerably impactful to me, likely planting the seeds of my current interest in topology.
