Terraforming Mars feels like several concurrent games of solitaire being played concurrently. The player interaction is sparse at best, and when it is incorporated it does not extend very far. A rule variant regarding drafting improves this, but it doesn't really integrate with any of the other gameplay. There are a lot of distinct, unrelated mechanics to keep track of and it is extremely tedious to weigh the specific meaning of all of the various strategic elements. Overall, playing Teraforming mars is more of a chore than anything else.
