Rattlebones presents a unique sort of strategy and problem solving, encouraging players to think pretty deeply about dice and probability compared to normal. In a tactile sense, Rattlebones is also very satisfying. Overall though the strategy of the game fails to provide any sort of meaningful or gratifying experience, but the little satisfying bits about it don't make it a complete waste of time.
The game is extremely uncanny from an aesthetic point of view, which could be considered a good or a bad thing.
