Never before has a game inspired such a visceral terror in me. Pandemic Legacy is the stuff of nightmares, expanding upon the horrifying germ-pocolype theme of the first and reminding you that the very fabric of society is disintegrating beneath you due to your own personal failures. The legacy mechanics have two main effects; firstly, they add elements of suspense and surprise to each session which are generally impossible to attain from board games; secondly, they massively ramp up the stress due to the perpetual fear of permanent consequences. So I suppose the main appeal of Pandemic is the same appeal of scary movies. If you like for your entertainment to cause you perpetual suffering and nightmares, then this is the game for you.
