While I suppose there is some sort of deeper, more interesting strategy to Evolution, I can't picture it as anything other than a cheap "take that" game disguised by a sort of cute aethetic. Not that there's anything wrong with "take that" games! Evolution just isn't a very good one. It's a real trudge and suffers from bad game pacing and effective eliminations (i.e. winners are decided relatively early on in the game, while everybody else at the table just sort of sits around and watches).
