Azul is one of the most cutthroat and aggressive games I've ever played, but it is also very satisfying to execute some of its basic prescribed strategies. The skill cap initially seemed to be a lot higher than I think it actually is, which I guess must be due to the learning curve. Similarly, while I had initially assumed that the game would be very much akin to several concurrent rounds of solitaire, I was stunned by how very exciting of an experience it was, moves being just as much inspired by opponents' boards as my own.
